Mod Podge Style

Here is another project I had fun with this summer. I just had a baby girl in April and I have so many empty baby formula containers. Empty containers are treasure to teachers!!! So, I used Mod Podge to glue and seal scrapbook paper to the container. I also did the same thing to the my storage container. It was white and boring so I spray painted it with the left over aqua blue from my chair.

Antique Style

So, about the chair I mentioned in my previous post. My classroom colors this year are turquoise, pink, green, and orange.

So I needed a coordinating chair for my reading center. I knew I didn't want to just purchase a chair, I wanted to create my own. So, I had a convo with my mom who mentioned she was going to donate her dining room chairs. A light bulb went off!! I asked if I could have one for my classroom. When she came to visit, she brought me one!!!

First, I lightly sanded the chair. Then I applied a primer and allowed it to dry for an hour. I then applied two coats of the aqua spray paint, let dry, and finished with a sealer!!! The fabric was a cinch to change. I choose a yard of fabric and simply covered over the existing padding and reattached it to the chair!!!

So EXCITED!!!

I am so excited about my new blog page!!! My Style and Class will showcase my do-it-yourself projects as well as classroom ideas and decor. I have been teaching for many years and I absolutely love it. Teaching allows me to be creative and nurture the creativity in my students. Just recently I re-purposed an antique chair from my parents' house and I am excited about doing more. I hope as you view this blog something will inspire you and ignite your passion to pursue what you love. God Bless you and ENJOY!!!
